The finer things in life can sometime come at a very affordable price. The Anastasia table is one of those things. It is an ideal table for you chess enthusiasts to show your opponents that you have distinguished tastes without being a snob. The Anastasia’s solid construction ends the days of playing chess on a flimsy table while your pieces move around like an electric football game. Make your move and hold it firm on solid Hard Oak wood that is resistant to scratches makes those timed blitz matches no problem. The solid oak legs are long and wide making for an extremely sturdy base for your games. Aside from the masterwork construction of the Anastasia let’s talk about the beauty of this table. Your chessboard squares contrast perfectly. The dark squares are made from South American Rosewoods while the white are made from bird’s Eye Maples which give off a beautiful luster. The spaces in between the squares are separated by a unique strip of veneer insert and the whole board has a matte finish appealing to the eyes. Storing a single chess set in your table is fine but what if you are a collector and like to bring out your finest set to play a worthy opponent. Well, the Anastasia has two felted drawers for set storage. Hold them safely and securely until your next challenge. To protect your table the Anastasia has two slide out flushed drink holders as well. The artistry of this table is apparent its design. Beautiful brass fittings, hand carved accents on the 4 corners that are duplicated on the chairs as well and a wooden “rope“ edging that is hand carved make the Anastasia a piece of functional art rather than a simple elegant chess table. The Anastasia measures 33” X 33” X 29”inches. The Squares are 2 ¾ inches. They can accommodate a King 3 ¾ - 4 inches. The chairs are: 42 inches high, 22 inches wide and 24 inches deep. From the top of the cushion to the floor is 21 inches.
